Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation ( IRCTC ) is the easiest way to book tickets from home. It doesn't work at peek hours when Tatkal booking times are in active. Even though so many times IRCTC announced they are going to Increase the site capacity but that time is still under process. For those people who are fed up with IRCTC site to reserve their railway tickets in India, they Introduced E-wallet service few months ago.

All You Need To Know Is How E-wallet Service Works

I will explain you clearly, every IRCTC user is eligible to use this service. All you need to do is register to E-wallet service by paying one time fee of 250 rupees. In your E-wallet you can deposit 100-10000 INR . You can use this money to book railway tickets without using any credit cards, net banking or any other online payment methods. Further you want top cancel your railway ticket refund will be done on next day If you are using E-wallet service. To activate this service you have to submit your PAN card number and Your Name for verification.

Steps To Activate IRCTC E-Wallet Service To Book Railway Tickets Online

  • Login to your IRCTC account and click on E-wallet >> E-wallet registration service.
  • It will ask you to submit PAN card number and card holder's first name.
  • After verification you have to create transaction  password and select your payment option and pay 250 INR (Inclusive all service charges) to activate E-wallet service on your account.
  • After completing the payment you will get a messgae to your mobile and also send notification to your E-mail.
  • To see new added fields on your dashboard you need to logout and sign In again.
  • Now click on E-wallet and their you can see drop down menu select E-wallet deposits. 


  • There you can deposit amount up to 10000 INR. I added 1500 rupees to my account to book railway ticket.
Conclusion : It will not be available from 8 AM to 12 PM. This is only one upset part in the E-wallet service. Overall every thing is good and amazing service really useful for frequent travellers.
